Technical Details . . .

Lights -   Halloween is more about effects and minimal lighting but there were less than 1000 in use

Cords -   more lights == more cords, this show used about 200 feet of extension cords

Power -   with all lights turned on the display would draw about 7 amps or about 800 watts

Sound -   Music is broadcast through speakers for this short lived show

Syncronization -   Programming is done with Light o Rama software
music is setup on a dedicated pc and linked to a light o rama controller
which executes every on, off, fade, and twinkle command

The pumpkins -   basic 8" pumpkins for trick or treating, with a small night light bulb
attached inside for the lighting effect
all propped up on a small plywood stage

Lightning -   basically 100 watt bulbs mouted in the trees and timed for rapid flashes with the
thunder claps in the audio of the show

Pumpkin pedestals - MY favorite addition this year - two plywood inverted angle pedestals
created from a sheet of plywood, the cut were not too precise, then primered gray
spray painted with "stone" paint and finally with clear polycrylic paint
each side has a shape or design created by dilling holes, and then the whole thing
                        is lighted from the inside
                        The look awesome at night

The fence -   this idea came from the falling down fence we always saw in the Munsters
it is 1" strips of plywood, nailed together cretty crudely
without much need or attention to detail
    ((- Maybe next year ?))

Giant Spider Web -   still in the R&D phase, there will be a GIANT spider web covering
about 30 square feet of the yard and made of white nylon rope
    ((- Maybe next year ?))
